Let’s transcend trends and get back to the heart of wedding photography:

laughter,

happy tears,

moments,

movement,

and the perfectly-imperfect, beautifully-unique day that is yours to cherish for a lifetime.

You have high standards, a timeless aesthetic, and are looking for images that will still look amazing – and not ‘meh’ – in 40 years.  It is important that you find the right photographer to walk with you through the wedding experience.

If you are looking for wedding photography in Knoxville, TN (Key West or anywhere!), you, my new friend, have come to the right place.

The greatest complement that I receive on the regular is that my images are happy.

And they should be happy, because you should be joyful and ectastic the day of your wedding.

I love happy. And I love being the photographer of happy.

She captured exactly what we wanted and I am so glad we chose her.

Megan was SO much fun to work with and so detailed. She loves her job and not only is she amazing at it, but it shows in her pictures and in her direction. I got more compliments on her work from our wedding than anything else. Our photos are so beautiful and really captured our weekend of love. She became a friend and I would hire her over and over again. We love you Megan and we miss you!

Mountain days are my favorite days. We’ve been blessed with a few beautiful fall days spent wandering through the woods and playing by rivers. Friends have joined us and we have just spent hours enjoying this beautiful season.

I was driving home from the mountains the other day and it struck me how absolutely wonderful living in Tennessee is and how unbelievably happy the whole family is here.

This isn’t an uncommon realization-at least once a week Ryan or I will look at the other and vocalize our thankfulness that the long and winding road brought us here. It wasn’t easy and it was insanely stressful but it brought us back here.
I would rather live a life where I said - I can’t believe I did that instead of I wish I would have done that.If there were on phrase that sums up my philosophy on life right now, that might be it.

I’ve done a lot in my life. I’ve moved to foreign countries where I don’t speak the language, I’ve jumped out of planes, and I’ve tried some pretty crazy foods but you know what made me most nervous? Finding out I would be alone with these two in Argentina for a week.

I travel alone with the boys a lot but Buenos Aires solo made me nervous. It is SUCH a big city and SO far from home- and very few people speak English (I do speak Spanish but still…). It would definitely be the biggest trip I had undertaken with them alone.

I told myself if we got there and I felt unsafe, we would just leave earlier but I was going to try it.

And guess what? It was pretty flipping amazing.

It wasn’t always easy. And I was definitely exhausted by the end of the night. But we had such an amazing time. We spent our days looking for cotton candy, ice cream, and playgrounds, exploring cemeteries, gardens, and bookstores. I got to spend such quality time with the kids away from the distractions of home.

Remember, very few things are as scary as you imagine them being. Just do the thing.

My nomadic soul has been quite ansi lately and I find myself missing our summer and the endless days spent wandering Buenos Aires.I miss the cafes and bookstores, the steak and, of course, the wine. The inexpensive food, the kind people, and the simple day-to-day of it all.

My heart feels homesick for the adventure and it feels nostalgic for the time spent watching my boys marvel in the newness of it all, the new language, the new foods, and the new customs.

People said my days of traveling obsessively were over when I had kids but really, there is nothing I love more than traveling with them. Sure it looks different; it’s less carefree and it is certainly more tiring but it is definitely NOT less fulfilling. It is more magical and beautiful than I ever would have imagined.

This audio is stellar. And so are the coffee shops in Buenos Aires. 10/10 recommend a trip to the Paris of South America.

Great coffee, better steaks, and even more amazing wine.

Instagram made this reel for me so I figured I might as well use it (and let’s be honest, I’m so not into social media enough to remake it without the text and dates). But honestly, this was a great trip - there is NOTHING better than Europe at Christmas. It’s heaven.

I’ve been trying to plan another Christmas market trip this year. Thinking northern Italy or maybe Austria. Any good recs out there?

I never thought I was a big Paris person….until last year when I discovered I actually was.Maybe it was the 2 years without international travel.

Maybe it was seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle in Avery’s eyes.

Maybe it was discovering macarons were gluten free.

Or maybe it just finally grew on me.

All I can say is, J'aime Paris and I can’t wait to see you again.

And I could really use a little cafe, some people watching, and a glass of red wine right now.
