In the year of COVID, nothing is certain with weddings these days. Stephanie and Kirk, however, were certain that they would have the wedding of their dreams no matter what – and have their dream wedding they did.
It may have been a bit smaller than originally imagined, but the day was beyond lovely and Stephanie and Kirk, clearly, had the time of their life.
With the majority of their people coming from the Chicago area, this Smoky Mountain destination wedding was full of love, laughter, and great dancing. The dancing was so fun that I may or may not have told my husband that we were getting dance lessons after this wedding….
Let’s start the day with these beauties captured on film…
I could not stop photographing these Louboutins. They were perfection. Absolute perfection.
Oh and the ring is pretty amazing too. 🙂
Shoes and view of the mountains – these are a few of my favorite things (cue singing the soundtrack from Sound of Music).
The Magnolia Venue has a beautiful bridal suite for getting ready photos. There is always great light and a clean, neutral vibe that makes photos pop.
The next two photos are some of my favorites. Stephanie was just SO excited and it shows very clearly in the photos.
And again, the shoes. Oh my goodness, the shoes. Again. I need a pair of these stat.
Unposed, I promise. Her bridesmaids were just the absolute sweetest.
And don’t forget about handsome Kirk and getting ready with his groomsmen.
It was an overcast day which really does make for some great photos, especially when you are on top of a mountain. I think it really makes the colors pop.
Weddings in the time of COVID19… amIright? I think that these two look like secret service.
The look on Kirk’s face just makes me so happy.
If you were unsure on booking the Magnolia for your wedding, this photo may change your mind. You truly can not get better views than from up here.
The venue is a perfect mix of rustic and elegant. I call it rustic-luxe.
The emotion in Stephanie’s sweet step-mama’s face seriously made me tear up when I saw it. THIS is what weddings are all about. THIS is what I adore capturing.
I feel like the best formals are a mix between posed and interaction. My favorites are always the more candid, relaxed shots but you, of course, want both.
These florals are just to die for.
I love that Stephanie and Kirk weren’t afraid to get off of the beaten track a bit for their photos.
The next 3 are among my favorites from the wedding.
Kristy and co from Margaret Claire’s Weddings and Events did an amazing job with the decor and the organization of this stunning wedding. Unlike a lot of planners, Kristy offers her couples the option to rent decor and furniture for weddings. This is super easy for the couple and gives them a lot of options! Plus, isn’t her decor is just the best?
Every first dance should have views like this one.
