Small and intimate, Natalie and Chad had the perfect wedding shortly before COVID hit. It was such a lovely, lovely day and I know these two look back on this day with such fondness.
One of my favorite places for getting ready photos are at private houses in Key West. Renting a vacation home is always a great alternative to a hotel room. Hotels are fine, but a home usually has so much more space, inspired light and generally outdoor spaces that are perfect for unique shoots.
Natalie got ready at a house near to the Hemingway Home. The light was just brilliant and don’t you just love her robe?
We did a first look at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park – which I highly recommend. The actual beach is usually a bit crowded (and not to mention usually really hot) but there are some great, less popular (and shaded) areas that lend itself to a beachy feel, without the crowds and sweat-inducing heat. The light coming in from around the trees just makes my heart happy. There is also the fort itself which has a few spectacular areas for photos – like the brick archways, stairways and, if it is the right time of day, from the top of the fort.
Natalie’s gown gives me all of the feels. Timeless and elegant, I love the lace and slightly whimsical design.
The moment right before the kiss is my favorite. Personally, I think it is even better than actual kissing photos.
Film images for allll the feels, amiright?
In case it isn’t clear, Hemingway House is one of my favorites.
Can I be honest? Small bridal parties have always been my favorite. I know micro-weddings are all of the rage now (thanks COVID) but I’ll take a small bridal party any day. Large groups are fun, but the intimacy of a small group of core friends is so relaxing.
