November 16, 2020
Sierra and Todd were my first Post-COVID wedding. It was such a lovely change to be shooting again and to be surrounded by happy, celebrating people. It felt so…normal.
Of course, true to 2020, there was a last-minute snafus… nothing major (note sarcasm)…. just their original venue canceling a week before the wedding. WHAT?!?! It was a COVID-related cancellation but, still, it was super-stressful for this rockstar couple.
Let’s just say, after 16 years of photographing wedding, that was a first for me but I never would have imagined a couple handling this situation with such grace. Thanks to their planner, Kenzie with I-Do Weddings, they managed to secure a very last minute venue that met their one request – mountain views.
The Lodge at Brother’s Cove not only met their request for stunning mountain vistas but the venue itself is open, stunning and elegant with a hint of rustic – perfect for your Smoky Mountain destination wedding. Sierra and Todd were beyond thrilled with it.
Sierra and Todd didn’t have a first look, which I think is super sweet. Instead, I took a few last minute photos of them getting ready and a few formals before the celebration began.
I love this candid of Sierra before the wedding as she watched her guests arrive and took a moment to herself. As a Smoky Mountain wedding photographer, moments like these are the ones I just adore.
Classic wedding photography at its finest.
Now on to their Smoky Mountain wedding ceremony….
I’ve seen a lot of weddings. Almost all grooms are excited to see their brides but I have to say, that I have never seen a groom SO excited to see his bride. Todd literally jumped when he saw Sierra walking down the aisle. It was one of the sweetest moments ever.
Veil movement always makes me a little giddy.
I adore this shot of Kenzie and her crew watching the ceremony. Aren’t they the cutest? And they clearly love their job which is so nice to see.
Can you think of anything better than getting married with this as your backdrop?
For the reception, they choose Bennett’s Pit BBQ. Like always, it didn’t disappoint.
The most fun and excited entrance….
First dance goals…
Here are a few more of my favorites from Sierra and Todd’s East Tennessee wedding.
