The past 10 years I haven’t shot as many engagement sessions as I use to. Living near Key West, almost 100% of my clients were destination couples – which was amazing but didn’t lend itself to the opportunity for engagement shoots that often. Engagement shoots are nice because you get to know each other before the wedding a bit more and I think engagement images get to show off your personality a bit more.
Paola and Ty choose Cades Cove for their location. which was perfect because I just became a certified Great Smoky Mountain Photographer which means I am one of the few photographers who are permitted to legally shoot in the park.
After dodging some rain showers, the sun came out and we were definitely rewarded for following through with the shoot.
I almost didn’t stop at this spot…. and I am so glad I did. These images are among my favorites.
The mountain views are unparalleled in Cades Cove but there are definitely some options to get a wide variety of shots. Ty wanted to stop to get a few shots at this church and when I saw this view from the parking lot I knew it could be amazing.
These were taken at the trailhead to Abrams Falls. It was close to sunset so the mist was starting to rise over the water. It looked like something out of a movie.
One last photo with the cotton candy skies before we called it a wrap. This sky though.
